Telematics
Konvoi, Transics or GeoDynamics: telematics hardware or a layer on top?
How Konvoi differs from all-in-one telematics like Transics and GeoDynamics: any tracker brand, installation through partners, AI on fuel, fines and documents.
Updated · 3 min read
Transics and GeoDynamics are all-in-one telematics suppliers: they sell their own trackers or on-board computers with their own software. Konvoi is the layer on top. It reads the telematics you already have, from Transics, Ruptela, Teltonika or PAJ GPS, combines it with fuel cards, fines and documents, and flags what needs a person. When a vehicle has no tracker yet, Konvoi’s installation partners fit Ruptela, Transics (TX) or Teltonika hardware.
Two approaches
- All-in-one telematics. One supplier provides the box, the installation and the software. Transics, part of ZF, is built around on-board computers for heavy transport. GeoDynamics focuses on vans, service and construction fleets in Belgium, including registration for construction sites. Changing supplier usually means changing hardware.
- A layer on top. Konvoi does not tie you to one box. Trucks on Transics and vans on Ruptela or Teltonika land on one map, in the same fuel checks and the same reports. Change tracker brand, or run two side by side, and each vehicle keeps one history. Ruptela trackers can even report straight to Konvoi, so there is no separate TrustTrack subscription to pay. For special cases that standard hardware cannot cover, Konvoi builds its own trackers on its Foundry IoT platform.
What Konvoi adds to your telematics
- Fuel checks. Every fuel-card transaction from AS24, IDS, DKV or your own depot pump is compared with the rise in the vehicle’s tank level and its position at the time. Litres the tank does not explain, or a card used away from the truck, open a case for review.
- Fines to the right driver. Time-based assignments record who drove which vehicle when, and Konvoi suggests the driver who had the vehicle at the time of the offence.
- Documents read by AI. Registrations, insurance certificates, technical inspections, driving licences and European accident statements are read and confirmed by a person, and expiry dates are tracked so nothing lapses.
- Container tracking. Know where every container and trailer is, which truck picked it up and where it was dropped off: less searching, fewer lost containers and proof for every delivery.
- Inspections. Drivers do a guided walkaround in the free Konvoi Inspect app, mark damage on the panel and get a sealed, timestamped PDF report.
Where the others go deeper
Be clear about what you need. Konvoi does not download tachograph or driver-card files, and it is not a tachograph analysis tool for driving and rest times. It also has no attendance registration for construction sites. If those come first, an all-in-one supplier or a specialist fits better, and Konvoi can still read the telematics next to it.
Who builds Konvoi
Konvoi is young, and its features move quickly. The team behind it is not new: it has more than ten years of experience building software. Konvoi is built in Belgium, together with transport companies that use it every day, and operated by glue.blue bv.
Which one fits
Choose Konvoi when you run a transport or logistics fleet, perhaps with more than one tracker brand, and want fuel, fines and paperwork handled for you. Choose an all-in-one supplier when one box, one contract and deep tachograph compliance matter most. The two also combine: Konvoi reads Transics and keeps it as your on-board system.
Questions
Does Konvoi replace Transics or GeoDynamics?
No. Konvoi works on top of your telematics. It reads Transics, Ruptela, Teltonika and PAJ GPS and adds fuel checks, documents, fines, permits and inspections. Your on-board computer and TMS stay in place.
Does Konvoi install trackers?
Yes, through installation partners. They fit Ruptela, Transics (TX) or Teltonika hardware, and the trackers are connected to Konvoi during installation. A fleet that already has telematics keeps it.
What does Konvoi not do?
It does not download tachograph or driver-card files, it is not a tachograph analysis tool, and it has no attendance registration for construction sites. It is built for transport and logistics fleets.
